Buck/Boost Transformer Products
In the Buck/Boost topology an inductor is used to increase (boost) or decrease (buck) the voltage at the input of the transformer (usually switch mode). Critical design parameters include inductance matching, leakage inductance and capacitance. Loose tolerances and / or tolerance stacking will adversely impact the control accuracy and repeatability of the related power supply. It is suggested the design methodology include a systems approach regarding the magnetics sub-system within the topology.
